Objective I

To make optimal use of e-platforms to receive prompt feedback and record the learning process.

 

Strategy 

  • Students complete the tasks on the Self-regulated Learning and Diagnosis System (SDS) individually by syllabus to understand their learning progress and record their performance in learning.
  • Teachers make use of the Classroom Practice System (CPS) to monitor students’ learning progress and performance during class and take follow-up actions if needed.

 

Effectiveness

This year, students have been using the SDS to complete math exercises according to different topics and their learning needs. The system will assign revision notes, tutorial videos, and follow-up exercises on different levels based on students’ performance so that they can understand their learning progress better and master the key learning areas. According to the school-wide questionnaire, about 94% of the students have done the exercises in the SDS system on their own, around 93% agreed that the system could help them understand their mastery of different learning points, and 92% agreed that the system could record their learning progress of different units. Teachers have been using the CPS system to monitor students’ academic progress and performance in the classes. About 92% of the students agreed that the CPS system could identify their problems instantly. All of our teachers thought that the system could help them check students’ learning progress and performance during classes and thus take follow-up actions.

Objective II                                                                                                                     

To leverage assessment data analysis system to enhance our examination paper design and diagnose learning problems.

 

Strategy

Teachers will maximise the use of AQP to analyse students’ assessment data and revise teaching plans, practising “assessment facilitating learning”.

 

Effectiveness

AQP is an automated web-based system developed by the HKEAA. AQP makes use of modern assessment technologies to analyse test items to ensure their quality. Assessment is one of the important feedback channels for students’ learning. The reliability of assessment depends on the quality of individual items and overall test design. AQP analyses students’ responses and calculates different statistical indicators. This year the subject panel used AQP to analyse the examination results of P.5 and P.6 students. Eighty-three per cent of teachers agreed that AQP could help them understand the importance of quality questions and options to continue improving the test design in the future. All teachers agreed that the statistics from AQP are helpful for them to identify students’ learning problems, understand students’ learning progress better, and take follow-up actions.
