Student and Parent Support Team

 

Objective I: To establish a platform for two-way communication relating to Parent Education.

The school has organized various parent education activities to improve parents’ positive parenting knowledge and skills, encouraging and nurturing their children to lead healthy and happy lives.

Parent Education Programme

1.        85% of parents are satisfied with "Lesson for Parents of Primary One students". (4 lessons in total)

2.        85% of parents are happy with the "LEAP Parent Course". (2 lessons in total)

3.        84% of parents are satisfied with the “Parent-child Colourful Painting Workshop”.

Interest Classes

1.        Fifteen parents participated in the "Makeup Class".

2.        Fifteen parents participated in the "Balloon Class".

3.        Twenty parents participated in the "Aromatic Lipstick Class."

4.        Twenty parents participated in the "How to plant Daffodils Class."

Parent Volunteers

1.        Fifty parents were involved as volunteers in the Reading Group.

2.        Fifty parents were involved as volunteers in the Promotion Group.

3.        Thirty-seven parents were involved as volunteers in the Decoration Group.

4.        Thirty parents were involved as volunteers in the School Sports Day.

Parents Feedback

1.        99% of parents agreed that the school often invites parents to participate in school activities.

2.        91% of parents agreed that they actively participate in activities organized by the school or Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

3.        Parents found the Subject Talks rich in content.

4.        Parents expressed that they were thrilled to be parent volunteers and served the school.

5.        Parents said that they had fun in interest classes.

6.        PTA could increase the opportunities for parents to communicate with teachers.

 

Objective II: To enhance the effectiveness of Differentiated Instruction by making good use of diversified learning strategies

This year, the school adopted various support strategies to cater for learner diversity and enhance teaching and learning effectiveness.

1.        100% of the students agreed that the study groups helped them master the languages and subject knowledge.

2.        100% of the students could apply the knowledge and methods learned in the groups to their homework.

3.        100% of the students agreed that the group activities could increase their interest in learning Chinese, English and mathematics.

Social Skills Group

1.        100% of the students agreed that they have greater confidence in communicating with others after joining the Social Skills Group.

2.        100% of students agreed that they could use the social communication skills they learned in their daily lives.

Reading and Writing Group

1.        100% of students agreed that they have greater confidence in reading or writing Chinese.

2.        100% of students agreed that they could use literacy strategies in their studies.

School-based Educational Psychology Service

 

1.        Educational Psychologists allocate 45% of their time to support students with potential special needs, 40% of their time to support teachers, and 15% of their time to help parents.

Enhanced School-based Speech Therapy Service

 

1.        95% of the students agreed that they have greater confidence in using language/ interpersonal communication with others after receiving speech therapy.

2.        99% of the students agreed that the training skills (such as styles of writing, story elements and communication skills) of speech therapy could be used in their daily lives and learning.

3.        96% of the parents agreed that their children's communication skills have improved after speech therapy training.
